Who is Isaac?
Born in British Columbia, Canada to Christian parents, Isaac spent a portion of his childhood in South Asia. As a teenager, these early cross cultural experiences inspired him to study foreign languages and linguistics, but also caused him to ask serious questions about whether the Christian worldview made sense in comparison to other world religions. These two interests of linguistics and apologetics have shaped Isaac’s life and have driven him to study and work in numerous countries throughout the Middle East and South Asia, engaging with various world religions in both formal and informal contexts. Isaac currently lives with his wife and two children in Ontario, Canada.
Isaac currently works as an international translation consultant and serves as an adjunct speaker for Apologetics Canada. Isaac has engaged in local evangelism ministries in Canada such as Power to Change and DRIME. He has also participated in interfaith dialogues and debates, and has held numerous seminars on issues of religion, belief, and cross-cultural communication.
Isaac holds a BA in Linguistics from Trinity Western University and an MA in Linguistics and Translation from the Canada Institute of Linguistics. He has also received training in Biblical studies and Ancient Hebrew from Dallas International University, as well as training in Classical Arabic, Islamic law, and Qur'anic interpretation from the Hedayet Institute for Arabic Studies in Cairo Egypt.
